CONCEPT
MINIMALLY INVASIVE, MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE

As the other members of the GMK family, the GMK UNI offers a complete product range to fit different surgeon’s preferences and patient’s conditions.
The GMK UNI has been conceived to be soft tissue friendly. Both implant and instrumentation are designed to fit muscle sparing surgical approaches.

  • Anatomic and symmetric femur both for medial and lateral compartment.
  • Same femoral resection profile for each size.
  • Tibial tray available in metal back and full PE fixed version.
  • Only two instrument trays required to complete a surgery.

  1. Bone preserving femoral component: the thickness of distal and posterior condyles is always 6mm, independently form the size being implanted
  2. Same femoral resections for all sizes allow freedom to choose the optimal femoral size up to the latest steps of the surgical procedure
  3. Flared distal footprint accommodates femoral rotation without impinging on the patella
  4. Muscle sparing-friendly femoral pegs do not require hyper flexion to implant the femoral component
  5. The tibial keel and the oblique fixation peg of the fixed metal back tibial baseplate ensure optimal primary fixation and ease implant positioning thanks to their muscle sparing-friendly design

TECHNICAL DATA

ANATOMIC FEMORAL PROFILE

Design based on the analysis of anthropometric data of a thousand distal femurs collected via the MyKnee Database.
The anatomic distal profile prevents patellar impingement and aids accurate implant sizing and positioning.
Asymmetric design helps prevent edge loading throughout the entire range of motion.

OPTIMISED INTERNAL PROFILE

A flexed posterior cut with angled pegs creates a “wedge” effect that improves primary stability, simplifies impaction and avoids implant expulsion during flexion.
Flexed posterior cut allows for deeper flexion whilst minimising the posterior femoral resection.
All sizes have the same femoral resections and peg positions giving intra-operative flexibility, enhanced by compact and efficient instrumentation.

TIBIAL COMPONENT

  • Mirror polished fixed tibial baseplate minimises backside wear.
  • Optimal primary tibial metalback fixation and ease implant positioning thanks to their MIS-Friendly design: stabilization fixation fin and oblique fixation peg.
  • Full-PE tibial component allows simple, accurate and time-effective implantation.

INSTRUMENTATION
MINIMALLY INVASIVE, MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE

Low profile/smaller instruments easily adapt to minimal exposure and patella-in-place procedures.

Spacer-mounted cutting blocks: ensure that all femoral resections create balanced flexion and extension gaps.

Compact instrumentation: only two trays are required to complete a GMK UNI surgery.
