Medacta Announces First UK Surgery Utilizing Medacta Shoulder System

Medacta International is proud to announce the completion of the first surgery in the United Kingdom utilizing the Medacta Shoulder System. The surgery was performed by Prof. Bijayendra Indrajeet Singh at the Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham, Kent.

With this first Medacta Shoulder System surgery performed by Prof. Singh, Medacta continues its expansion into shoulder arthroplasty, with more than 1’000 implants performed all over the world. “The instrumentation is simple and easy to use. The implants of the Medacta Shoulder System permit a wide intraoperative choice to better adapt to the patient’s anatomy. The patient has recovered well. I’m very pleased with the outcome” said Prof. Singh.
The Medacta Shoulder System is a modular solution that features a broad range of options, including wide-ranging sizes, adjustable offset, and innovative configurations. Developed by a group of experts from Europe, the United States and Australia, the technology offers the flexibility to move from anatomic to reverse arthroplasty without the need to remove all components.

The Medacta Shoulder System is part of a multi-center, post-marketing, prospective, open clinical study that will collect clinical and radiological outcomes for the next ten years.
The Medacta Shoulder System is also supported by the M.O.R.E. Education Program that can be tailored to suit each surgeon through extensive learning experience.

The new Medacta Shoulder System is a continuation of our effort to improve orthopedic implant design and configurability for the benefit of both surgeons and their patients,” said Francesco Siccardi, CEO of Medacta International. “Thanks to the M.O.R.E. Institute, also for shoulder solutions - like all our products - we created a personalized education path tailored to everyone’s needs.
