AMIS® SPECIFIC INSTRUMENTATION

Specific instrumentation and a leg positioner are required for the AMIS® success.
Medacta®, in collaboration with the surgical world, developed a set of instruments and the AMIS® extension table with the objectives of:

  • Reducing errors.
  • Reducing the learning curve.
  • Simplifying the implementation of this technique.

Medacta® offers a choice of instruments for the AMIS®:

  • AMIS® Charnley: A modified Charnley retractor with hooks designed for ideal exposure of the operative site, especially the acetabulum.

  • AMIS6.jpg

  • AMIS® Starter: The curved Starter rasp is used to open the femoral medullary canal, for correct rasp positioning.

  • AMIS7.jpg

  • AMIS® Handle: A straight rasp handle gives a firm hold during femoral preparation, decreasing the risk of malpositioning of the stem.

  • AMIS8.jpg

  • AMIS® Hohmann: The "femur lifter" with an atraumatic tip ideally exposes and raises the femoral stem.
  • Chana Reamer: The offset reamer handle provides high-quality reaming in a reduced operative site.

  • AMIS® Cup Impactor: An offset impaction handle is used for implanting the cup in an atraumatic manner.
  • AMIS® Mobile Leg Positioner: An orthopaedic table extension which fastens to an existing table of any brand.
