Finite Element Analysis results confirm the prosthetic shape for stress optimisation.
They indicate that
- Cement mantle must be as uniform as possible and must be at least 1.5 mm thick.
- Shape should be as straight as possible.
- Cross-section must be as circular as possible.
During its introduction into the medullary canal, the Cone prosthesis shape allows a homogeneous cement compression.
A proximal spacer and a distal centraliser allow for perfect positioning control and provides a continuous cement thickness between femoral stem and cortical bone.
