The UHMW Polyethylene acetabular cup has an overhang design to allow an adequate coverage of the femoral head component and a reduction of luxation risk with its 10° elevation.
The cup is circumferentially ridged and radially grooved to improve the bonding of cement. Incorporated cement-thickness equalizing PMMA pods provide an uniform thickness of cement. A continuous PMMA flange is also incorporated to prevent contact between polyethylene and bone.
The extended flange contains a CoCr wire marker as a reference for radio-graphic cup orientation and wear measurement.
