HOSPITAL ADMISSION
The day before the operation
Do not forget:
- the X-rays;
- the Vitale card and other national health documents;
- the crutches;
- the support stockings.
On the day of surgery
The surgical procedure will take about 60 to 90 minutes. It will be preceded by a preparation and followed by monitoring in the recovery room. The time away from the room may be quite longer than the operation time without this implying any complication.
Special care is taken to relieve any pain. Do not hesitate to call, even in the middle of the night, to obtain relief. Regular checks will be made by the nurses.
Drains can be put in place and maintained for 24 to 48 hours to draw off any bleeding.
The first days
The following day, the first getting-up will take place. The first 48 hours will be for rest and recovery; you will make the first steps on the third day with a physiotherapist.
